Who We Are

Mold Water Remediation Corp is a state-licensed restoration contractor operating across all five New York City boroughs.

We handle water damage, mold remediation, fire restoration, flood cleanup and emergency response. Our dispatch base is at 1419 Coney Island Ave in Brooklyn. Every crew that goes to a job in Manhattan, Queens, the Bronx or Staten Island rolls out of that same location, under the same licence, with the same documentation standards.

We are not a referral network. Not a franchise. One company, one licence, one crew structure — across the entire city.

A restoration contractor is the professional who does the physical work of returning a damaged property to its pre-loss condition. That is different from a general contractor, who builds, and different from a public adjuster, who manages claims. In New York, contractors working on mold are required by state law to hold a specific licence. We hold it.

Our story

Haim Lavi Founded This Company in Brooklyn in 2016

NYC property owners deserve a licensed contractor who can produce documentation that actually works.

Haim Lavi
Founder & CEO

I am Haim Lavi. I founded this company in Brooklyn in 2016.

New York City is not a simple market. The buildings are old. The ownership structures are layered. The regulatory requirements are specific. A company operating here needs to know how co-op water damage routes through a proprietary lease. It needs to understand what HPD requires to close a mold violation. It needs to produce documentation that holds up — not just a bill.

That is what I built. Years of jobs across Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island. Twenty crew members. One licence number you can verify yourself through the State of New York.

The Team

A 20-person crew means we can work multiple jobs in multiple boroughs without pulling people off an active site.

I run the company as Founder and CEO. The operations team handles crew deployment from the Brooklyn dispatch location at 1419 Coney Island Ave. Crew assignments are based on job scope and geography, not on whoever happens to be free.

Crew structure matters more in New York City than most people expect. A pipe failure in a Queens high-rise and a sewage backup in a Bronx walk-up can happen the same afternoon. With twenty people working from one base, neither client waits for the other job to finish — which is also what makes multi-floor commercial response possible.

Our crews are trained across all service lines: water damage, mold, fire and emergency response. That cross-training means the crew arriving for an emergency extraction can assess for mold if moisture readings raise concerns. One response. One record. No handoffs between separate contractors.

Credentials

NY State Mold Remediation Contractor License #24-6A4P4-SHMO is the credential New York law requires to perform mold remediation above 10 square feet.

  • Licence number — 24-6A4P4-SHMO
  • Issued — July 2, 2024
  • Issuing authority — Division of Safety and Health, part of the New York State Department of Labor, State Office Campus, Building 12, Albany, NY 12226
  • Registered to — Mold Water Remediation Corp, 1323 East 18th St, Brooklyn, New York 11230
  • Dispatch base — 1419 Coney Island Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11230

That number is verifiable directly through the NY State Department of Labor mold program. You do not have to take our word for it. This is a mandatory state credential — not an optional certification and not a trade association membership. Without it, a contractor cannot legally perform mold remediation above the threshold in New York. Under Article 32 the post-remediation clearance assessment is performed by an assessor independent of us, which is how the law is designed to work.

Our Standards

Every job produces documentation. That is not optional — it is how we operate.

Property owners and building managers in NYC need a contractor who can answer two questions directly before work begins. Are you legally authorised to do this work in New York? Will your paperwork be useful to me after the job is done?

We answer the first with a licence number that can be checked before we start. We answer the second with a written record structured to support insurance adjuster review, HPD violation closure, or both — and a written work plan on every qualifying mold job, as state law requires.

The same licensed company sends the same trained crew, without subcontracting to fill a gap. And the standards do not change with geography: a Staten Island job runs the same protocol as a Brooklyn job. Our guide to the NYC mold rules sets out what that documentation has to contain.
